Best Buddies

Usually the boys' play resembles closely what is seen in the pic above. Ethan is trying to get Hudson to do something that he thinks would be really fun, but Hudson is not convinced and rather angry and defiant about it (rightfully so). When that is not the case, Ethan is blaming Hudson for some kind of trouble he may be in. For example, I found two entire baskets of toys completely dumped out all over the top bunk. There is no ladder to get to the top bunk so only Ethan knows the super sweet technique to get up there. When I asked Ethan if he had dumped all his toys out his response was, "no, that stinky pete Hudson did it!"

But recently and somewhat inexplicably Hudson has developed a sort of fondness resembling that of a best buddy with Ethan. Ethan decided he didn't want to eat dinner last night so we told him he couldn't go to the pool until he had eaten at least part of it. Ethan was messing around-not eating. So we all got ready including Hudson. Then we started to head out saying we would go without Ethan to try to spur him to eat, but Hudson absolutely refused to go out the door without Ethan. He kept trying to grab Ethan's arm and drag him out the door and would not set foot out until he knew Ethan was coming too.

Also pretty much any time Ethan has to do some time in timeout Hudson comes to the corner and gives Ethan kisses on the arm and waits in the middle of the kitchen until Ethan's time is up.

Today Ethan was so tired he fell asleep on the couch around 5. Hudson didn't know what to do with himself. He kept trying to go up and stare at Ethan to wake him up, then he just stood next to Ethan on the couch. Then he got a blanket of his own and laid down on the floor next to Ethan. Lastly he climbed up on the couch with his blanket and pillow on the opposite end and tried to pretend to sleep like Ethan.

And the greatest bonding/ best buddy making moments of them all......10 gold stars to you if you can tell what the movie is.
